- Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (post-wise).
- Also required
- Needs an engineering diploma or degree in the right branch. Most posts allow up to 30 years, a few up to 32. The check uses the 2026 window moved forward one year.

- Qualification
- Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering as required by each post (some posts need 2–3 years' experience with a diploma). IMD Scientific Assistant needs a B.Sc. with Physics or a listed degree. Held by 22.09.2026.

- Needs an engineering diploma or degree in the right branch (12th alone is not enough). Most posts allow up to 30 years; only CPWD and DG Lighthouses & Lightships allow up to 32.
