- M.Sc. or equivalent with at least 55% (50% for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwBD, third gender); final-year students may apply. A four-year bachelor's with 75% qualifies for JRF and PhD only.

- For science subjects only (Chemical, Earth, Life, Mathematical, Physical Sciences). No upper age limit for Assistant Professor; JRF up to 30 (up to 5 years more for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwBD, third gender and women).
